When: Saturday, May 25, 2013 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Sharp

Where: Abbeydale Community Hall (Parking Lot) 821 Abbeydale Drive NE

Spring is just around the corner and there is no time like the present to get cleaning and organizing the basement, garage and your yard.

We cannot accept:  Tires, refrigerators paint, household chemicals, propane tanks, car batteries, glass, liquids and large furniture.

Electronic items accepted: Desktops, notebooks, printers, scanners, copiers, fax, keyboards, mouse, CD/DVD ROM, TV’s, servers, phone systems, monitors, software, switcher, routers & household batteries.

Trash & Treasure: A tent will be set up for any items destined for the landfill that we deem to be re-usable. These items will be offered free to Abbeydale residents on a first come basis.

We need volunteers for the following:

-       Adult volunteers to assist with unloading garbage. This helps reduce the wait time and reduces traffic congestion

-       Adult & youth volunteers are needed to help clean the field between the Community Hall & Abbeydale Elementary School and Blessed Kateri

-       Trash to Treasure – volunteers to manage re-usable items and encourage residents to take items home if they can use them

-       Traffic Control volunteers to direct persons to the appropriate drop locations in the parking lot.

All volunteers will be supplied with work or disposable gloves and garbage bags. In addition all volunteers will be provided beverages, breakfast and or lunch.

What you should know?

Please note that we do not provide personal pick up service for this event.

We urge residents to organize their own back lane clean up and to help those who cannot bring in their trash. Make a family event by cleaning the children’s play park, laneway, pathway or boulevard near your property. Please ensure your children are supervised if participating in a clean-up and educated on any hazards they may encounter.

All volunteers will be supplied with work or disposable gloves and garbage bags. In addition all volunteers will be provided beverages, breakfast and or lunch at no charge.

By-law officers will be in the area prior to and the day of the event to ensure residents are doing their part to clean up their properties.
